The brief:
Two States Foods is a Burlington-based food brand selling authentic Indian spice blends and chutneys — recipes rooted in family tradition, made for the modern Canadian kitchen. They came to BCIC needing a brand identity built from scratch: something that honoured their cultural roots while feeling fresh and credible on shelves and online.
What I did:
I led the full brand identity process from the ground up. Starting with three moodboard directions to align on visual language with the client, we moved into logo development — presenting multiple concepts before landing on the final mark. From there I built the complete brand kit: logo suite, colour palette, typography, and brand assets ready for application across packaging and digital.
Note: packaging design was handled by a colleague — my scope was the core identity system.
The outcome:
The brand launched and is actively in use. Two States Foods is currently selling through their own Shopify store in Canada, with the identity applied consistently across their website, product line, and social channels — exactly what a first brand needs to get off the ground.
