The brief:
Cardon is a Canadian manufacturer of treatment tables and therapeutic exercise equipment for physical therapy, massage therapy, and multidisciplinary clinics, trusted by practitioners since 1975 from its home in Burlington, Ontario. Cardon set out to extend its brand beyond the clinic with Body Mechanic, an apparel line for rehab professionals and the people who move with them. They came to BCIC (Business and Commercialization Innovation Centre, Niagara College) with a brief for a collection of graphics for tees and sweatshirts that would speak to the profession with personality, while staying true to Cardon's reputation for quality.
What I did:
As the designer on the BCIC team, I developed 20+ graphic concepts in Illustrator and presented them on product mockups, working within the typefaces and logo selected by the owners.
Note: Printing and production were handled by the client; my scope focused on creating the design options.
The outcome:
Selected designs from the concepts were produced and launched as part of Body Mechanic's core collection of tees and sweatshirts, now sold online at bodymechanicapparel.com. The line gave Cardon a way to connect with practitioners beyond the clinic, bringing the brand into their everyday wardrobe.
